For her 2nd birthday, Sarah decided to climb out of her crib. I was honestly very very surprised that she hadn't done it much sooner. And, I'm surprised she hasn't done it since. Well, considering that on her third try, she fell, I guess I'm not That surprised.
The last month has month full of antics. With all the kids gone to school, Sarah has to entertain herself, and, as children do when they are bored, she goes searching for new toys to play with. One of her favorites is the sewing room where my mom has a big case of little drawers full of little things. She climbs up there and proceeds to pull out the drawers, discovering the things inside, and dumping them all out, to see them better, I guess. We've had to be very careful about leaving that door open.
Another of her favorites is going in the bathroom, taking everything out of the trash, and piling it in the toilet. Well, why not? She sees other people put things in the toilet.
Yesterday, she discovered the drawers in the diningroom, where my mom keeps all sorts of odds and ends. She found some old night lights and tried to plug them in. No, she didn't shock herself, but, she did drop one and the bulb shattered on the tile floor. After that, she found a bottle of clorox spray under the sink, and tried to spray it in her mouth. I tell ya, this kid keeps me on my toes. It's like having Robbie all over again, except that Robbie was a very happy child, and, well, little Sarah isn't always that happy. She is finally starting to understand that tantrums don't work on mommy, so those are simmering down, but, she can still be quite the screamer when someone makes her mad, telling them a thing or two.
As for speaking, she's getting pretty good, parroting all the time, and picking up new words every day. The funniest one is when she walks around the house looking for, "Rob." or, as she's says it, "Wob." We call him Daddy to her all the time, and she even says Daddy occasionally, but, when not mimicking us, she calls him Rob.
Her favorite toys are, legos, cars, and dolls. Her favorite book is a book about cars. And, she loves playing with her siblings. She also loves clothes and shoes, so she will probably be a good mix of girl and tomboy. Who really knows, at this point.
